I have a judgment on me for a car accident my underage daughter was in. Neither car involved were cars I owned or was driving. I thought the insurances for the cars would have paid the bill. I requested a hearing to stop garnishment and got it, but the collection company said because it is from 2016, there is no way to get the insurance to pay for it now and that I would have to pay it. Everyone I have talked to has told me to not pay as it shouldn't be on me. I just need to know if it is even worth fighting, it's only a little over 1000.

We signed a lease for an apartment in Vero Beach, FL, for 55 and over tenants, without knowing that smoking was permitted. After moving in, I developed severe coughing due to second-hand smoke, which led to medical issues. I gave the office a 60-day notice to break the lease due to health reasons and vacated the premises. The management is now demanding the balance of our rent and security deposit. What are my rights as a tenant, and can they send this to a collection agency since we vacated due to medical reasons?

I received a letter from Palmer Recovery stating I have to pay Walmart for civil action to recover damages. The letter was sent under a different name, which I haven't used in years due to being married. What should I do?

My daughter is in the process of renting/subletting an apartment at WVU in Morgantown, WV. She has not signed the full lease, only an addendum for subletting. There are significant issues with the unit, including maintenance problems and security concerns. If the full lease is not signed, do they have any legal recourse to sue her for the full 6-month term of the lease?

In a counterclaim for negligence and harm in Connecticut, should I use 52-102a or 52-102b to implead additional parties? Additionally, is there a firm or company that can assist with writing a brief for an appeal, as my current lawyer does not represent me in appeals and I have been pro se but have never written a brief before?

I live in TX and my husband's previous employer ended his employment in May 2018. He started a new job with a startup that didn't offer insurance benefits, so he opted for COBRA to maintain his current health plan. He made his first COBRA payment in July 2018, but was later informed that COBRA actually started in June, making him a month behind. The COBRA provider canceled his coverage without notice, returned one of his payments, and referred him back to his old employer's HR department when he appealed. This back-and-forth has left us without health insurance, which is critical as I had a severe accident in January and need surgery. Is there anything we can do to resolve this situation and get re-instated for COBRA coverage?
