I have a notice of being served for an $800 debt, but I had paid $916.65, with the last $200 to be settled. The company I made payments to dissolved and reported that all but $200 of the original debt was paid. Now, the debt is back to $800, and I'm being served. The parent company won't provide payment history without a subpoena. What can I do?

I am fighting with my previous rental company who is trying to charge me for carpet cleaning, wall repair, and painting after move-out, despite these issues not being addressed before I moved in. Most of the damage was already present. I am in Cabarrus County, NC, and have the initial walk-through pictures, although they are not very clear when enlarged. I need to resolve this quickly as it affects my ability to rent a new place. What should I do?

I have a property that I cancelled a contract for, and a friend wants to purchase it. Can I start the financing process with my current bank now, even though the contract cancellation is effective until March 6th, and set the closing date to the end of March without breaking any laws or rules?

I am a STEM student applying for a 24-month extension in Florida. I need a lawyer to review my I-983 and I-765 forms and answer specific questions regarding them, including whether my company address can be used as my mailing address, how to properly cite my employer's name, who should sign the documents, and how to get an automatic 180-day extension if my current OPT expires while waiting for the extension.
