I have an immigration issue. My friend from church is married to an American citizen and had residency in Florida up until the end of May 2010. She filed all her paperwork and paid her fees for her residency. When she received her original residency card, it was incorrect, so she reapplied. She called to check the status of her new residency card and was told it was still being processed. By the time it was close to her original cut-off date, she called again and was told it was still in process. The next form she received in the mail stated that they did not receive the form to file her own residency, and her previous residency was cancelled and revoked. She will no longer be able to work or continue to have residency in Florida. They have now set her a hearing on September 8th, 2010, to determine if she will be deported back to her country. What should she do?

I was injured falling down a step in a basement apartment in January 2003 in Massapequa, NY, due to frozen leaves and snow/ice. I fractured my left ankle in two spots, requiring surgery with a metal bar and screws. Now, with my right knee also causing issues, I must use a cane. Can this case still be pursued, especially since the property owner later sold the house for violating rental laws?

I was questioned by my employer right out of surgery and recorded. I don't really remember what was said, but I told my doctor I was in severe pain several times to get help and he didn't. How do I get this tape? If I switch doctors, will he have to give me the tape?

I am a flight attendant who had to take maternity leave due to being unable to perform my duties, and my company requires me to stay on leave until 6 to 8 weeks after delivery. I filed for unemployment benefits, which are typically granted to attendants in my situation, but my claims have been denied twice, stating it was a voluntary leave. I have appealed these decisions to the Unemployment Appeals Commission (UAC) but have not yet appealed to the District Court of Appeal. What are my other options?
