I have lived in a $6,500/month apartment in a high-rise in New York for almost 3 years. The air conditioning is not effective, maintaining a temperature no lower than 77 degrees even with all blinds shut. The management has not fulfilled their promise to install a larger unit or add film to the windows. Do I have any financial recourse, as they rented me an air-conditioned apartment but I am living in a hot environment?

I own a supermarket where I own 50% of the property. My lease has 10 years left, but I want to extend it in case I want to sell the business. However, my property partner is unwilling to extend my lease. What are my options?

I recently purchased a laser skin resurfacing package from a med spa, which was supposed to be buy two treatments, get two free. I paid $312.50 for the first treatment, but the spa owner now claims I owe another $312.50 because the regular cost for one treatment is $625. I signed no contract agreeing to these payment terms, only a refund policy stating there are no refunds on package purchases. Do I owe the additional money, or is their claim invalid due to the lack of a written contract?

My sister in Michigan is very ill and financially destitute. She has started the process of applying for state and federal aid. We sent her some money to help her make it until she can get this help. Within the past 2 days, one of her creditors got the bank to send them all of the money she had left ($800). When she talked to the bank, she was told that the credit card company sued her, got some kind of judgment, and had the right to do this, and that the bank had no choice but to send them the money. Is this true? Is it legal? Does her personal circumstances change anything? What will happen when she starts to get monetary aid?

I currently have conditional residency, and in a few months, I will be able to apply for permanent residency or citizenship since I have been married to my wife for 3 years. My question is, how would a minor offense affect this?

My grandparents took conservatorship over me when my birth mother died when I was 3 months old. They used money left to me from my birth mother's death for their own house when I was 3 years old. I was not fully informed of all the details when I turned 18 and ended the conservatorship. Now, at 32, I discovered issues with the conservatorship, including the courts not pursuing annual records until I was 11, my grandparents not repaying the money with interest as contracted, and the lawyer drafting but not legally submitting a mortgage and promissory note. Can I pursue legal action given these new discoveries?
