I live in Michigan and my wife and I got a home equity loan from Quicken Loans. A year ago, my house was foreclosed. The loan was put in my wife's name, and we are now separated. The house was sold for less than what would cover the original loan and the home equity loan. I have since found out that at the time we got the equity loan, we had a built-in equity loan in the first mortgage, which they did not tell us about. Now, they are coming after me for repayment. Do I have any legal options against them, and is my ex-wife also responsible for this loan because it was taken out in her name?
