I live in MN, am on RSDI, and owe back child support, but the situation has changed. I now have legal custody of my son, and his mother is supposed to be paying child support, but she is not. We're both about $4000 behind. They are still coming after me for the back child support I owe even though I now have full legal/physical custody of my son. (Going after my bank accounts, taxes, etc.) Now that I am supporting my son, can they keep harassing me about the back support?

I've been receiving correspondence from multiple companies over the last three years regarding unclaimed funds in my name, all referencing an old address and a similar amount that seems to be increasing at a reasonable interest rate. I initially thought it was a scam since I've been unable to confirm on any unclaimed property website. Is it possible that these companies/individuals would actually have access to more information than the average person would?
