I loaned my building contractor $7000 on November 25, 2022, with a hand-written contract stating the payment was due in 14 days. The contractor has not repaid the loan and I have no current address for him, only a phone number. What legal actions can I take to recover the money, and how can I locate him if necessary?

I have a Geico insurance comprehensive (fire) claim being denied with full coverage. The denial is based on a clause about proper maintenance, claiming an exhaust leak caused the wires to catch on fire. I've only had the vehicle for less than a month and was not the owner when the maintenance was supposed to have been performed. What are my options to challenge this denial?

I am a landlord in NYC. I served my tenant with a 60-day lease non-renewal notice that expired on 12/31/2023. The tenant has not moved out and has not paid their portion of the rent for months. The tenant has a city subsidy that pays a portion of the rent. The reason for the non-renewal is the tenant's poor maintenance of the apartment, which includes a bad smell and damage to the property. What legal steps can I take to evict the tenant?

We had previous contact regarding an insurance claim. The company claims their employee did not enter/submit our policy after reviewing the quote and telling us it was taken care of. Subsequently, there was a broken pipe and extensive damage to our mountain cabin. We followed your advice and told them we felt they were negligent. They have contacted us and are sending an agent from an Errors & Omissions company. Does this mean they are covering the claim or still trying to determine if they will cover? Should we be doing anything to cover ourselves? We have taken pictures of the actions we had to take, involving gutting most of the walls and flooring as there was 4 inches of water throughout the cabin.
