I need a list of civil cases where hearsay evidence was introduced and the case was overturned because of it. A lawyer handled a purchase of a partnership interest for my father-in-law in 1980. My father-in-law paid back taxes, liens, and assumed all debts of the partnership. One parcel of land in both their names on the deed was not transferred by deed, and both parties are now deceased. I need the notes or records from the attorney who handled the purchase. I have asked to talk to him but he will not unless I provide a copy of everything I have first. Do I have a right to a copy of the file and the information, or can he withhold it? As a CPA, I must provide clients with copies of all their records upon request. Is this the same for a lawyer?

Can she just leave at will like this, and do I have any legal rights?
