I need help. My son took out a life insurance policy in 1983 making me the beneficiary. I have been paying all the premiums for more than 30 years. Now my son is dying of cancer and is in jail. Will the state take this policy away from me? I need the money to bury him.

The ABIM (American Board of Internal Medicine) requires that if a candidate fails their examination three times in a row, they must wait a year before taking it again. This policy places undue financial and personal hardship on physicians, especially since more hospitals are requiring board certification for privileges. Is a policy requiring a doctor's note showing an employee is okay to return to work after calling in sick for 5 days a good practice to maintain, or is it outdated? From an employer's perspective, it seems to open up some liability if we do not require the employee to show that they are released to full duty (other employees getting sick from that one or that employee claiming in court we required her to return to work). However, we want to grow with the times and if the policy is no longer a standard policy, then we would like to change it.

Is there anything in the laws that prevents me from making a casual contact via social media with my estranged son, who is 14 years old, after a court battle where the outcome was against me? Could I face any potential charges for contacting him through Facebook to say hi?

When appealing to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, what should be included in the appellate brief, and how should the record from the district court be referenced to ensure the appellate court understands the case details, especially when the district court ignored significant motions and details?
