I’m having a dispute with a person who feels I owe them money. I have records to prove I don’t but don’t want to give them physical or electronic copies of my evidence should I go to trial. Specifically, I am the president of a philanthropic foundation and a board member, who is also my cousin and the VP, received a defamatory text message from my ex-girlfriend about me being emotionally and physically abusive. My cousin, who wants my position as president, is considering bringing this to the board at an upcoming meeting on September 12. I want to know if I have a right to protect my name and reputation from being defamed by this board member and if there is anything within libel or slander law to prevent my cousin from bringing these unverified, untrue allegations to the board.

We paid a total of $6200, but Estes later texted that he wouldn't be returning to work and asked how much he still owed. We provided a payoff amount to be completed by February 24, 2023, which they agreed to but did not fulfill. They also lied about Estes being a contractor. We want to know how to resolve this situation, including repossessing the 5th wheel or getting paid as agreed, taking action against their false statements, and reporting Estes to prevent him from harming others.
