I owe the state of Montana over ten thousand dollars and the interest is adding up. I have not contacted the IRS directly concerning this matter. I have an accountant who sent a letter of hardship to the IRS, but the issue has not been resolved. I also inherited a lot of money when my husband died in 2017, which I foolishly invested in a marijuana store, losing everything except my home. What steps should I take to address this tax debt?

I received a small claims/debt claim case citation in my current county in Texas. It requires me to respond within fourteen days. I believe my debt was sold to a third party. Is this a scam, and if not, what should I do given my current financial situation (unemployed, taking care of disabled children, and dependent on my husband's income)?

My grandparents and uncle have passed away, and the property in Binghampton, NY, is not in probate yet. If I pay the taxes due, will I have any rights to the property?

Can being a character witness negatively affect me, and what should I expect in terms of process, travel, and employer obligations if I am asked to be a character witness?

My domestic indoor cat has bitten my wife twice in two years. The first incident was while clipping her nails, and the second was while applying flea medication. The cat is current on her vaccinations, including rabies, and is not aggressive but gets scared when handled. My wife went to urgent care for both bites and was prescribed amoxicillin. After the second bite, we had to quarantine the cat for two weeks, after which a Department of Health representative cleared us and lifted the quarantine. Our concern is whether this second incident subjects us to any more severe intervention, such as the cat being taken away or euthanized.

How can I report a divorce attorney to the bar association for cancelling my temporary hearing without my consent and accepting the opposing counsel's request for 'not being available' without making any deal to accept the opposing counsel's request?
