My husband and I need a lawyer to fight CarMax. They refuse to return our vehicle after I declined for them to repair it. We purchased a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 in August 2010 from CarMax. The engine light came on in January 2011, and after multiple repairs and issues, we took it to a local PepBoys auto shop, which indicated no work was done. Our warranty company declined further repairs by PepBoys and advised us to return the vehicle to CarMax. CarMax now demands additional payment for repairs we declined, and they refuse to return the vehicle unless we speak with their legal department. Can you recommend an attorney in the Maryland/DC area to handle this issue?

I just went through a loan modification and was denied due to a 31% debt ratio and inadequate funds for property taxes and insurance. My job went through a hiring freeze and restructuring of pay, causing me to fall behind on payments along with unexpected garnishments. I spoke with EMC to save my home and was instructed to apply for another modification. I submitted the application on October 29th, 2010, and was not given an answer until March 30th, right before CHASE acquired EMC. I did not make payments during the process and was not advised to. I believe this would be a quick resolution like my last modification, but now my options are to catch up on payments or consider an approved short sale or turning over the property. I want to save my home; what can I do?
