I signed a contract for a wedding dress in Pennsylvania, which states that the 60% deposit required to purchase the dress is non-refundable. However, the vendor allowed me to pay 40% of this 60% in a 'payment plan' without any written agreement. Due to a family emergency, I requested a refund, but the vendor claimed they had already placed a 'pre-order' with my payment, which was not mentioned in the contract. The vendor provided no evidence for this 'pre-order'. I have filed complaints with the attorney general and BBB, but I am unsure if I can get a refund or if the vendor can sue me for not proceeding with the contract. What are my legal options?

My family law attorney has been unresponsive and fails to follow through on agreed requests. I have a deadline tomorrow for a response to my ex’s RFO. If I want to substitute them out, either for me as Pro Per or for another attorney, could I just email them that I need it done by noon? How does it work given the situation? The main attorney is in court the next three days and if they don’t get it done timely, we miss deadlines.

I live on the 2nd floor in NYC above a pizza place that plays loud music from 10am to 1am or even 5am, with no soundproofing. Complaining to the police and talking to the pizza place didn't work. I keep emailing the management company, but I don't know what to do. Can I withhold my rent until the landlord fixes this?

Is it legal to cut down a red maple in the state of Rhode Island, which is the state tree, and do I need a permit to do that? Additionally, do I need a permit for any tree in my yard?

My husband is currently detained in DeKalb County for a failure to appear. They gave him a court date of January 13, 2019. Is there anything else I can do? We have filed a motion for bail but nothing has come from that, and he is held without bail. A bench warrant was issued, and no collateral was given to cover the bail. What can be done to expedite his hearing or secure his release?
