I was approached by a film company to make a documentary about my life, with the intention of helping my non-profit organization financially. There was no written contract, but they agreed to a revenue split and I paid for some of their expenses. The film was entered into festivals and won an award, but after the producers learned about my religious views, they began disparaging me and decided to 'shelve' the film, removing potential benefits for my organization. They are now trying to extort money from me to purchase the film. What legal actions can I pursue?
