I was detained by US military security forces in Japan without being granted a lawyer, despite multiple requests. I was denied the right to leave and was held in a room for over 3 hours until I provided the information they wanted. I was also issued a hit and run ticket on government property. I was put on garden leave by my ex-employer in Hong Kong after informing them of my intention to join a competitor. They took my work computer and items from my locker, claiming they would return my personal items after checking but never did. They also asked me to sign a letter acknowledging 'continuing obligations' that could lead to legal action against me without notice. Additionally, my reputation was tarnished when my line manager informed stakeholders of my garden leave without explanation. Do I have a case to demand the return of my personal items, retrieve my personal data from the company computer, refuse to sign the letter, and seek legal recourse for the damage to my reputation and unfair treatment?
