I was involved in an MLM called Pathway to Prosperity in 2008, which promised a 35% weekly return on investment. I mentioned it to someone who then joined, but the scheme failed. Now, I've received a letter from a lawyer stating that I'm being sued for $88,000 and have 30 days to pay. What can I do to resolve this situation?

As a Canadian citizen/resident who spends the winter in the southern U.S., am I legally permitted to transport a pump-action Defender .12 gauge shotgun (which model has the shortest legal length permitted in Canada) with a plug limiting it to three shells, from Canada to the southern U.S. for close-range skeet shooting over the winter?

The mother of my child has been harassing and verbally abusing both myself and my wife. We live in Texas, while she lives in Las Vegas. The harassment includes online and text messages. What legal actions can I take to protect myself and my wife, and ensure that I can still see my daughter without enduring this harassment?

What obligation, if any, do we have to protect the privacy of the alleged offender's parent when the police request their information for a report, and should we inform the parent before disclosing their information to the police?

I successfully sued my insurance broker 3 years ago for falsely submitting an application for life insurance in my name. We settled before it went to court. I found out that my ex-husband was the one who gave the broker permission (without my knowledge). Can I sue my ex-husband? The consequence was a HIPAA violation (my medical records were released without my permission).

I have items stored in my hay barn that belong to a man who was arrested for assault and strangulation. He was convicted and sentenced to three years and three years of special probation. I have a letter from him stating that if he is convicted, I should sell his things and donate the money to my rescue. His mother is now claiming ownership of his items, including an ATV I sold after his conviction. Do I have legal ownership of his things, and if he told me to sell them, do I have the right to do that?
