I have items stored in my hay barn that belong to a man who was arrested for assault and strangulation. He was convicted and sentenced to three years and three years of special probation. I have a letter from him stating that if he is convicted, I should sell his things and donate the money to my rescue. His mother is now claiming ownership of his items, including an ATV I sold after his conviction. Do I have legal ownership of his things, and if he told me to sell them, do I have the right to do that?

If I assign all rights and interest in my ongoing civil lawsuit to a bank as part of a deed in lieu agreement, am I fully released from any further obligations or liabilities? Specifically, will I still be required to assist with the case, testify, and provide documents, and could I potentially face future liabilities?

Does one have to be disabled for exactly at least 12 months, or expect to be disabled for at least 12 months in order to qualify for employer long term disability? Also, what are the requirements for reporting a disability claim, and can a group plan deny coverage if these requirements are not met?

I am a pro se party and need to research case law due to desperation. Where can I find case law, and must I subscribe to a service? Google Scholar directs me to paid sites. How can I learn to research case law, and are there user-friendly sites that guide through various aspects of a case? I understand there is a specific order and requirements for citing case law, and legal advice often returns a 60% held opinion. I need validated advice by case law and don't know where to begin.
