I was living with a man in South Carolina. He pursued me for months, asked me to marry him, and convinced me to move from NYC to Charleston. I paid six months' rent in advance for an apartment for us. I caught him cheating and made him leave. He owes me around $5500 for music equipment, rent, gas, and food that I purchased. He agreed he owes this but said he can't pay because he doesn't have the money. His friend told me he received an email from him asking him to lie to me and steal from my apartment. He is now saying it's against the law for me to hold any of his belongings and he's going to call the police. What are my rights?

I joined a website and used my partner's name instead of mine in an ad, leading to being banned for life. I then used other people's identities to open accounts, which the website discovered. They are now threatening to bring criminal prosecution under 18 USC § 1030. I did not commit fraud, gain any financial benefit, or access any data. Do you think a federal prosecutor would agree to prosecute me, and is there another law they could use?

I live in California and want to give my vehicle (valued at $36,000) to a friend as a gift. What legal steps do I need to take to ensure I am covered from any liability issues, and should I make a bill of sale or draft a letter stating that I gifted it to him?

I recently traveled to Ecuador and was checked more deliberately at Quito airport, despite having no issues at Miami airport. Could you explain the reason for this? Was I profiled, and what could the explanations be?

My daughter was mistreated, bullied, and developed medical issues that have all been documented at an out-of-state university. She was there on a scholarship. What kind of case is this? Civil, Criminal, Personal Injury? All three?
