I was notified by a chiropractor's office almost 2 years after my treatment that I have an outstanding balance of over $1,200, despite being assured by their staff that my insurance would cover 100% of the visits. I never received a bill during my treatment, and now my insurance is showing it won't cover most of the charges due to the delay. What are my rights in disputing this charge, and can I fight back for the practice's mistake?

I have a hearing scheduled on Thursday, September 27, for my demurrer of the defendant's answer and motion to strike. I just realized that I (the plaintiff in pro per) didn't verify my complaint, which could lead to losing my demurrer under CCP 431.30(d). Can I amend my complaint to verify the answer before the hearing and push the hearing back? Additionally, could the defendant's failure to provide discovery and my motion to compel discovery affect the outcome?

My company, an S-corporation, took out Merchant Cash Advances against future receivables, but due to business hardship, we can't continue payments. One lender is threatening criminal prosecution and contacting my family. The contract states I wouldn't take out advances with other companies, which I did. They claim this is financial fraud. They also say they can contact my friends and family and that I'm a personal guarantor on the repayment. Can they pursue criminal charges, contact my family, and come after me personally despite my company being a corporation?
