I was notified that I have a court date for tomorrow morning but the mail was delayed due to the Hurricane in NJ, and I was not given ample time to prepare and set up proper transportation and time off from work to make this court date. Should I try to write an Adjournment Letter, or should I try to make the court date and let the Judge know that I am in search of proper counsel?

My mother is owed about $10,000 in insurance reimbursements from CalPERS for in-home care services provided by Visiting Angels from May through August 2012. CalPERS is refusing to reimburse us because Visiting Angels is not providing the required documents, such as their business license, a Home Healthcare Agency statement, and proof of professional insurance. Visiting Angels has consistently refused to provide these documents despite multiple requests. Does Visiting Angels' refusal make them liable for the reimbursement that my mother is entitled to? Should we sue both CalPERS and Visiting Angels? Can Visiting Angels be legally compelled to provide these documents?

I used my credit card to pay for a $5000 bond to keep an employee out of jail on a matter that was supposedly cleared up. The State of Illinois apologized but only returned approximately $3000 because he had some other outstanding non-payments. Since that time, we both have left that company. I am still in touch with him. This whole deal goes back almost twelve months. Legally, what can I do to collect the balance from him?

Have I lost all opportunities to correct a wrongly imposed injunction for repeat violence, which includes the denial of the use of a waterway (canal) our property joins due to proximity to a petitioner, effectively placing me under house arrest for years?

We are adopting a special needs child with severe health issues, including blindness, cerebral palsy, 90% brain damage, and being fed through a G-tube. The child is eligible for ACCESS, Children's Rehabilitative Services, and has been approved for an Adoption Subsidy. Our current income is $110,000 per year, but it will drop substantially with retirement, and we will be on Medicare. Will any of his program eligibilities be reduced because of our income once the adoption is complete? In 10 years, we will be on Social Security and a fixed income, and without state health insurance, his health needs could bankrupt us. He is 16 months old, and there appear to be program changes at ages 3 and 18. Can you provide a chain of law through Arizona Revised Statutes and Federal Medicare (Title XIX?) laws that will help me map his eligibility? Does Medicare require the State of Arizona to cover him, or is it the good graces of the state that makes him eligible? Is health insurance and the adoption subsidy an additional enticement to encourage adoption of very ill children?

I was taking care of my 83-year-old mom, who lives alone in a small apartment next to my rental property. One day, she gave my half-brother access to her finances, and he used her money to buy a house, claiming she would live with him. Now, he refuses to talk to me and doesn't want anything to do with his mom or me. I don't have any way to pay for her care or take care of her. What can I do?
