I was offered summer school work for $31 per hour via email, but in an impromptu meeting I was unable to attend, it was stated that the pay would be $15 per hour. I was initially told it would be 5 days per week for 7 weeks, totaling approximately 24 hours per week. I am located in Texas and this involves the Dallas Independent School District and an independent 'summer program' vendor/contractor. What should I do about this apparent bait-and-switch situation?

I am closing on a home earlier than expected and need to break my lease by 2 months and 1 week. I want to know if I can be sued for doing so and what steps I should take.

What are the steps I need to take to set up a DBA in California, and do I need to incorporate or get an EIN if I am a sole proprietor with two small business ventures, one physical and one online?

I sent the petition with my CORI. I qualify for sealing. I just wondered if I still would have to go to a live hearing.

I am a plaintiff in a case involving overdraft fees, which was initially set to be a class action lawsuit. After four months, the defendant offered a settlement deal where I would receive $5,000 out of a total settlement offer of $75,000. I was informed that three law firms worked on the case, with billing rates of $800 per hour, resulting in about $17k in billing per month. Does this seem excessive, and am I responsible for these fees?

I bought a 2009 Cadillac CTS in January 2019. The car has been unable to pass emissions tests, preventing me from obtaining my first GA tag. I wrote a demand letter to the dealership owner 14 days ago but haven't heard back. I plan to take the owner to small claims court in his county. However, I heard from an attorney that I can't sue under the Lemon Law but could sue for Fraudulent Conveyance to void the contract. The car was sold with a warranty, but it only covers one coil for $200, and I would have to pay $1,995 for the remaining repairs. The check engine light was on when I bought the car, and I informed the dealership/owner a week later. Can I sue to void the contract for Fraudulent Conveyance?
