I am a former law clerk for a retired lawyer who discarded several winnable cases, including a major HIPAA violation at the MN Stillwater prison where 1200 inmates' files were sold by a nurse without consent. I need help with PUA claim backdating in South Carolina. I was approved for PUA and LWA on 11/03/20 and have received payments from my filing date, which they listed as 08/15/20 until present. However, I've been out of work since I closed my business on 03/26/20, which is the date I requested backpay from. I received a letter of denial of my backpay and was told to appeal by Nov.16. I've read that backpay is automatically retroactive to the last day of work. Why am I being denied and how can I rectify the situation?
