I was served with a small claims money damages document in Harris County, Texas, and need to respond by the 14th. I agree to pay the $287.16 I owe, but I do not want to pay the attorney fees as I did not receive a bill and was unaware of the debt. I am being sued by the original creditor, Patrick O'Connor, a property tax reduction service I used in 2006. What should I do to respond to this claim and dispute the attorney fees?

In California, if a landlord continuously fails to secure the building's entryway, such as fixing the jamb or buying a new door that locks, to keep wanderers, the homeless, and criminals out of the hallways, bathrooms, and vacant rooms of an old motel turned residential, and a resident is assaulted by a thug after asking him to leave the building, what kind of legal action can the tenant take against the landlord?

Living in Wisconsin, I originally went to court and asked for a no contact order due to harassment. Now, I would like to be able to communicate legally with this person. I went in front of a commissioner, spoke to an ADA, and asked a judge, all of whom said 'No'. Is there anything I can do? Should I hire an attorney for this?

I received a letter from Bank of America stating they have locked my account and transferred my savings to a law firm due to a writ of garnishment for $21,000.00. The name on the letter, Linda Hays Pope, is not mine, and the money in the account was intended for moving expenses. What can I do about this situation?

I have a workers' comp settlement agreement document and need someone to review it to ensure it's okay to sign. The document includes a clause stating I can't apply for SSD and Medicare, Medicaid for 30 months, which I find suspicious. I was injured at work in Florida on 03/10/2021 with injuries to my cervical spine, knees, lumbar, shoulder, and PTSD. I have moved to Maine and have been under treatment there until 06/02/2022. I am concerned about the contract's fairness and whether signing it could cause future problems.

I sold two tickets to an event on StubHub, but the buyer claims they only received one. StubHub requires proof that I physically mailed both tickets to get paid, but their instructions did not mention needing to record proof of mailing. What can I do to ensure I get paid for the sale?
