I was working as an independent contractor for a roadside service company that issued me a 1099. I faced abusive working conditions, including being threatened and not being allowed to decline additional work after working over 12 hours straight. I believe there is a mismatch in my work contract. What legal actions can I take, and how can I determine if I should be classified as an employee rather than an independent contractor?
