I went to a detox clinic while legally intoxicated and signed a billing agreement I did not understand, believing my costs would be limited to my insurance. The clinic mismedicated me for 7 days due to my active Crohn's disease, causing significant pain and forcing me to leave rehab early. Additionally, I was charged for 10 medical visits when I only saw a Nurse Practitioner 5 times and a doctor once. Can I void the contract due to my intoxication and lack of a meeting of the minds? Do I have a claim for medical malpractice due to the pain and suffering caused by the mismedication? Is there potential billing fraud that I can pursue?

I have been on my job for about 8 years at a hospital. Within the last year, I have been receiving write-ups that I believe are not true. My job holds me responsible for patient equipment even if a nurse or doctor touches it. I was recently written up for not checking a patient's equipment, but I have documentation showing the patient was fine when I last checked. I am now on a 90-day probation and have to attend a meeting where I need to explain why I want to keep my job. I feel this meeting is a setup for termination. Should I resign during this meeting?

I had a charge that was deferred. What does that mean and will it show up on my record if a company does a background check?
