If a restraining order case is occurring in the state of Missouri, can the defendant subpoena a hostile witness to appear in court if they have to cross state lines and have a child to take care of? Additionally, what is involved in a deposition and can you be tricked into saying something you don't want to? I am very worried as this person is absolutely crazy - name calling, calling with pretentious I.D., sending ugly cards, e-mails, etc. and I don't want to be involved in this at all. Now her husband is saying that they will subpoena everyone, making accusations, calling and trying to negotiate the case without a lawyer and thru family members. What can I do?
