I had a judgment filed a few years ago against myself and a friend for a total of $5000. If I pay half and talk to the person I owed money to, is there any way to remove my name from the judgment?

I filed an appeal for a civil case where I won on the court reporter fee, but the judge denied it. The appellate court dismissed my tax cost appeal without prejudice and wiped out the entire judgment to zero. The appellate clerk issued a Remititur stating 'Costs are not awarded in this proceeding,' which contradicts the appellate judges' order. The clerk also entered a judgment of zero for all costs, overriding the jury verdict and trial court's ruling on tax costs. Should I file a complaint because the clerk misinterpreted the order? Where do I start? What should I do from here? Can someone explain what this meant?
