I’m an AF retiree and landlord. My tenant, a very low-income woman, and her sister, a GS-12, signed a lease. They quickly had trouble paying the rent, with the GS-12 promising to pay all back rents when she got her Fed tax refund. After serving a NTV, the occupying sister vacated. Back rent owed is $5200, not including late fees. Is there a way to compel the GS-12 to pay, short of suing in civil court? Is nonpayment of debt a violation of civil service personnel regs? The property is in Texas, and the GS-12 had a bankruptcy discharged about 9 years ago and seems savvy regarding avoiding payment.

I was employed with an organization in Knoxville. I was falsely accused of possessing a weapon that wasn't mine, resulting in me missing work. Upon returning, I informed my employer of the pending charges (not convictions). My supervisor asked for a detailed account and my lawyer's contact info. I was sent home and later suspended without pay. I was then given the option to resign or be terminated, which I chose to avoid a mark on my employment history. The organization assured me I wouldn't be labeled as non-rehire even if I proved my innocence. They didn't provide an explanation for my release and I didn't request additional time off. Do you believe this is grounds for pursuing a lawsuit for wrongful constructive termination?

On 03-15-2018, at approximately 05:45 am, I was awakened by a loudspeaker advising that my residence was surrounded and that all residents should come out with their hands up, followed by a loud bomb-like explosion. I struggled with my disability and my two sons, Cedric and Censei, were also directed to come out with their hands up, as well as Bobbie Woods, a disabled former air force member I care for and rent rooms from. I have not talked to an American lawyer about this. I have filed claim 19018. What steps should I take next?
