I have a small business in Texas with less than 50 employees. An employee was injured in a car accident outside of work on personal time and cannot perform his job duties due to doctor's restrictions. We offered him a leave of absence or a light desk duty shift, but he refused and expects his full 8-hour position. What are my legal rights as an employer in this situation, and what Texas employment law can I cite to support my position?

My boyfriend signed a contract to purchase a boat, but the finance guy added a service fee without clearly explaining that it would increase the monthly payments. The updated contract was sent without clarification, and my boyfriend signed it without fully understanding the implications. He doesn't want to return the boat but wants the fee removed from his payments. Is there any way to get the fee removed even though the contract was signed?

As a US expat working in Canada, my position is being eliminated and I was provided a severance package based on US standards. I have discussed this with HR and an attorney, and the firm wants me to relocate back to Houston before my termination date, making me subject to Texas laws. My relocation agreement from Houston to Calgary was signed while I was in Calgary. My original employment document from Michigan states I am an 'at-will' employee. Which laws govern my case: Canadian, US, or Texas?
