In an unlawful detainer case in California, I mistakenly filed a 'motion to dismiss' instead of a 'motion to strike'. The correct motion is not allowed after the response time has elapsed. Do I need to cancel the motion and file the correct one, and will this result in a default? Additionally, how should I handle serving documents without a court time stamp, and can I serve the attorney of record in a related restraining order case?

I just found out my license is suspended due to an expired registration ticket from June 2018 that I was unaware of. The suspension occurred because I didn't show up to court for the ticket, which I didn't know about since I had moved and didn't receive the ticket in the mail. What are my options to get my license unsuspended and what will this mean for my driving record?

We are trying to get custody of my stepdaughter, but DFCS has been delaying the process and making unreasonable demands, such as asking my husband to change his medication without medical backing. They have also attempted to access our medical records without permission. What can we do to resolve this situation without hiring a lawyer?

I have bipolar disorder and my employer required my psychiatrist to regularly report to their EAP regarding my condition. I resigned due to this violation of my privacy. Was this action by my employer legal, ethical, and appropriate? Have you heard of other employers doing this?
