In North Carolina, can a state employer read my private Facebook chats that were not sent or received while I was at work? I inadvertently left my Facebook homepage open but minimized on the status bar at work. Someone at work opened up all my private chats with a friend and is now threatening disciplinary action. The same people I recently filed an EEOC complaint against. I feel my privacy has been violated. Is there no privacy anymore?

I purchased Apple iTunes cards at a grocery store and put a total of $1000 on them (4 cards). I never used them and now would like to return them to the seller. The store manager refuses to take them back, saying that I need to return them to Apple. Apple rep says that I need to return them to where I bought them and Apple will repay the cards' value to the reseller, but not to me directly as they do not have access to the transaction. Can I pursue the seller (grocery store) to take the cards back, and if yes, how can I do that? Is there any law protecting me as a consumer in this situation, and if so, how should I proceed?
