I lived in Forest Park, Ohio, 13 years ago and recently received a call from a debt collector stating I owe $3000 in taxes. I agreed to pay $100 a month but then stopped after one payment due to concerns about the statute of limitations, penalties, and the legitimacy of the debt. I was also told that by making one payment, I agreed to the debt and it cancels out any statute of limitations. What should I do?

I am trying to restore my sanity from my horrible unfair divorce. My attorney, David Butterfield, did not make an effort to get me my share of the property. In the divorce, I was required to sign a Quit Claim Deed, and I later learned that I am still on the mortgage despite having no rights to the property.
