I have a ticket from 2011 for speeding and no license that has been sent to collections. The ticket was issued in a small town far from where I live, and I missed the court date due to my mother being terminally ill with cancer and me being her caretaker. I am developing middleware that would communicate between external MIDI devices, external audio interfaces, digital audio workstations, and a game engine called Unity. I am using Unity's service, Unity Connect, to obtain advice from an expert on Unity on how to develop this software. I would like to continue working with this professional but also prevent theft as this software could be considered intellectual property. Nothing has been developed yet, so it is just an idea. I'm not sure whether I need to file a copyright on the IP or if I just need a non-disclosure agreement specifically designed for this situation.
