Additionally, if one sibling closed the deceased's bank account and the bank said the money would go to the government, is there anything the family can do to collect the money for cremation? Can they collect money from CPP for cremation? If the deceased had no assets except for a closed checking account and lived in a seniors home, are family liable to pay the August rent? If the daughter keeps using the deceased's credit cards and opens new credit cards, is this considered fraud and could she go to jail?
