My 84-year-old mother, who is on Medicaid and has no assets, has two outstanding credit cards with balances of about $9,000 each. I want to close these accounts. Should I inform the credit card companies that we will be closing them and that she cannot pay? Will they try to go after her social security or anything else? Is bankruptcy a viable option for her?

My lawyer went to court for my final divorce decree without consulting me, and I had many objections and questions that were not addressed. The decree was not changed. Can I take action against my lawyer, should I try to appeal the recent court ruling, do I have to sign the decree, and what are the consequences of not signing in Texas?

I'm in SW Florida and have friends over for Mil-Sim games in my yard. A neighbor keeps calling the police and code enforcement, claiming I'm running a business and causing excessive traffic. I'm being threatened with fines and towing. What legal actions can I take to address this harassment and protect my right to host friends on my property?

I am a 10% partner in a Texas Corporation that has not been involved with for 2 years. I have been notified by the State Comptroller that my partner has failed to pay sales tax for 5 quarters, amounting to $4,924.37. My partner also did not dissolve the corporation as planned and has sold all the business assets. What can I do, and am I 100% liable for the unpaid taxes?

I signed a contract with my employer stating payday is the 5th of each month and requires a 30-day notice for termination. If the 5th falls on a weekend, I must wait until the following Monday to get paid. The state labor board says my employer must pay by midnight on the 5th. My employer has been late with payments. If I want to change jobs and give less than a 30-day notice, has the contract been breached by my employer, and can I be sued for giving less than a 30-day notice?
