My Birth Certificate only has my last name, and I was named with my first and middle names at my Baptism a week later. Now, under new laws, no one will accept my Birth Certificate for identification purposes. I am 76 years old, on a fixed income, and live in Albuquerque, NM. I have tried to get a State ID card and even my own bank won't accept my Birth Certificate. Legal Zoom also couldn't process my request due to the lack of first and middle names on my Birth Certificate. What can I do to prove my identity and obtain a valid ID?

I have a retail store with two partners and want to open another store on my own in the same town. My partnership agreement allows me to partake in any business venture, even if it competes with the current business. Can I open in the same town, take my current employees, and what should I do about being locked out of shared resources like email, bank account, and point of sale?

I have a question regarding power of attorney and HIPAA guidelines. My sister has a power of attorney for my mother. Can my mother revoke it, and under HIPAA rules, can the hospice tell me my mother's location if she consents? Additionally, if my mother agrees, can I take her with me, and how can I access her medical records and insurance cards if my sister refuses to provide them?

My husband lived in a marital home for many years without paying the mortgage, saving money in the process. I did not take over the house when I had the chance. He eventually disposed of the house via deed in lieu of foreclosure, which did not require him to include the saved money as income. Can I claim a portion of the money he saved during those years in our property settlement, considering I did not want the house but he lived there practically free for three years?
