My daughter accidentally spilled a drink on someone else's computer. She cleaned it up and advised not to turn it on until it was dry, but the owner turned it on anyway and it stopped working. The owner's mother is taking my daughter to small claims court, demanding $350 towards a new computer. What are my daughter's chances in small claims court, and can we file harassment charges if the mother continues to leave nasty messages?

I am a senior international consultant in national transportation policy. In 2002, I was wrongfully terminated from a project in Cambodia due to fabricated complaints by an ADB Project Officer, which severely damaged my reputation and led to significant financial loss. The ADB and its officers are immune from lawsuit, and I was unable to pursue legal action in the Philippines. The project officer, now residing in Virginia, has refused any contact. I am interested in any possible recourse and would like to contact a DC-area attorney familiar with international consulting to discuss potential legal actions.

I attended a training school that no longer exists and was informed that my classes would count as college credits, which turned out to be incorrect. I graduated in 2003 and am now seeking new employment, but need to use services that were supposed to be available, such as job search assistance and skill refreshers. My school closed, and when I researched other locations, the BBB advised seeking legal advice due to a complaint. I am still paying back my loan. Additionally, I worked in the AM program as an instructor while I was in the PM program. What should I do in this situation?
