My daughter lives in Bryan, Texas, and rents a house. The landlord took her to court because the money order for her deposit was not in his name. He also told her he would apply her last month's rent to February's rent. On March 5, I went to pay her rent, and he told her he was taking her to court. He won, and she had to pay an additional $800 for rent. The house has significant issues, such as a bathroom wall being ripped out and electrical wires showing in the bathtub. What should we do, and how can this be resolved since she was only five days late with the rent?
