My dog died due to negligence at the groomer over a month ago. She developed neck problems/severe pain due to a pinched nerve, which progressively worsened until she couldn't eat anymore. I need to know if there are legal options I can take and what they might be. I am in Georgia, and I have asked the groomer for video footage, which they claimed was deleted after 30 days.

Can I be handed civil court papers out of state? I am in Nevada, but the papers came from Massachusetts. I was added as a joint defendant to an existing case in Plymouth Superior Court, Massachusetts, and was served papers in Nevada. I am looking to respond to ask for a dismissal, as I have never worked or lived in Massachusetts or Plymouth County.
