My ex-husband died under suspicious circumstances at the age of 56 on May 26, 2022, while under the care of his second wife, whom my two children and I suspect of poisoning or having something to do with his death. The death certificate and what she claims he died of are not the same. The police have rejected our family's request to investigate. The widow has family connections in the police department and had him cremated immediately. She stands to inherit $3-5 million as his surviving spouse. His estate is currently in probate, and we would like the truth about his death. If the police refuse to investigate, how do we proceed with an inquiry into his death? Do we need to hire an attorney, private investigator, or go above the local police department? Who do we go to present our evidence?

I had an incident at a gas station where another driver damaged my car door. The driver's insurance company refused to accept liability. Can I pursue the driver through Small Claims court, subpoena witnesses and evidence, and request preservation of surveillance tapes from the location? How should I send the request for preservation of evidence?

If the lease does not specify the address for the insurance and only mentions adding the name of the apartment to the additional insured, and the landlord gives only one week's notice to update to a new address, then charges and states it's a violation of the lease, is that legal? I thought they had to give 30 days' notice and cannot change rules without adding an addendum to the lease.
