My ex is trying to sue me for slander after I shared with my family and close friends what happened during our breakup and what he did, including a story a friend told me about him. He claims it damaged his reputation but there's no monetary loss or physical damage. What are the laws regarding slander in British Columbia, and how can I defend myself? Additionally, I have proof that he pretended to be me on a dating app while we were together, which I want to file a claim for. What would be the outcome if I win this case, and could I also seek reimbursement for my lawyer's fees if I win my defense against his slander case?
