My father, who is a cosigner on my auto loan, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Texas. Chrysler Capital has removed the account from my credit bureaus, stating that all my credit history on the account has been wiped clean and will never be put back on because it would be 'reporting inaccurate information'. They also said that if I surrendered my truck, they would not be able to put a repossession on my credit. Can I voluntarily have my vehicle repossessed with no negative consequences to my credit?
