My friend is suing me for writing a bad check as a guarantee for another friend's loan. The loan amount is $31,000, and the borrower has paid around $25,000 since 2008, mostly in interest. The borrower recently died, and the lender is now seeking the full $31,000 from me. I have been making monthly payments of $200 to $300, but the lender claims these payments are only for interest. What should I do?

She also refuses to take her medications. What steps do I need to take to place her in a nursing home to prevent harm to her or others?

I live in a POA community in SC where the POA has changed the mailbox style and size, requiring everyone to purchase new mailboxes from them by a certain date or face fines. The original mailboxes were also purchased from the POA. The new mailboxes were unpopular, so the POA amended the governance to require the new smaller mailboxes. This seems unfair as other changes were grandfathered in. Do we have any legal recourse?

I signed a Direct Buy Contract yesterday without a cooling-off period. Is there any way to get out of the contract? The contract states that if I start buying items and selling them, my membership can be revoked.
