I am filling out form I-485 for my daughter who I adopted, although she is also my niece. Her certificate of foreign birth issued after the adoption does not mention the mother's name, and her mother is my sister. What names should I put for the father and mother on the I-485 form? The adoption was completed in Maryland.

I was robbed by the guy installing my Dish Network, and the police told me they were working on it, but the man never came in for a polygraph and was fired by the company. The company never contacted me after I filed a police report, and the job was not completed correctly. I keep having to pay for a service that isn't fully set up, and now I'm told I have to pay to have someone come out to look at it because it was likely installed wrong and isn't under warranty. I can't find a lawyer, and the police said to get a lawyer. I need help but don't know where to go. Can you provide some direction or names of lawyers?

A special education teacher is upset with me, a special education consultant, for making changes to an IEP that she felt were immoral, illegal, and unethical. The IEP was not transition compliant, had a non-skill-based goal, and omitted services on the services page. I added these omissions and was accused of wrongdoing. The teacher went to the superintendent, who likely thinks I did something illegal. What should I do to clear my name?

I have an ongoing dispute with my landlord about rent money owed. They are trying to make me pay $2500.00 in fees as well as rent owed. Recently, I found out that I am living in a rent-stabilized apartment and the landlord went into foreclosure because they were not making the payments. I now have a receiver that I am supposed to pay rent to. Should I pay it and go to court or should I just go to court?

What steps must I take to have the courts review my case for re-sentencing after having a previous charge dismissed and expunged, which was part of the reason the state was able to sentence under the habitual statute? This case was used to revoke my original deferred adjudicated probation that the state subsequently used as one of two prior convictions. While incarcerated, I filed a motion to expunge and was granted. However, I was paroled to serve out the remaining part of a 60-year sentence that legally is now null and void due to the granting of said motion to expunge. Can you please direct me to the proper people that can help obtain justice in this matter?
