My husband is an American and I am an Australian. We are residents in Australia and want to hold a joint Umbrella Insurance policy to cover us in the event of being sued. Our travel insurance's public liability insurance does not pay in the event of a car accident, which leaves us at risk. We carry USA-based insurance for our St Paul condo in MN, which includes US$300,000 personal liability cover, and we have a car insured with US$500,000 personal liability. Our insurance cover includes me as a named driver and accepts my foreign driver's license. Can we hold a joint Umbrella Insurance policy, and is there any issue with me being a non-American citizen or resident?
