My roommate got drunk and hit me, and I walked away. She called the police and stated that I assaulted her. We were both charged with simple assault, and she no longer lives with me. She has since tried to get the charges dropped against me due to false allegations, but the police refuse to do so. Why was I charged, and why will they not drop the charges when she admits that she lied? I now face an arraignment and possible conviction.

I accidentally returned a $70 check and have been trying to resolve the issue, but the parties involved demand treble damages and fees, which have not been awarded by a court. I have defense under CRS 13-21-109(3). The case has been repeatedly delayed by the plaintiff's attorney. What are my chances in court and what should I expect?

Is any action brought against a medical doctor, deemed to be medical malpractice, even if the doctor is CEO of a huge non-profit (medical) transplant facility and the cause of action is intentional infliction of emotional distress (IIED), subject to a four-year statute of limitations? The origin of the offense resulting in the IIED cause was due to the plaintiff having been banned - not treated - by the CEO from the transplant facility unjustly. The Statute of Limitations (4 years vs. 2) is the issue.
