I received a letter from Graham Legal, PLLC about a supposed Civil Case Record filed against me by a credit card company. The letter is an advertisement for their bankruptcy services and states, 'Don't panic, Don't ignore the problem.' I have already contacted some of the credit card companies to work out payment plans, but one, Capital One, never responded and closed the account two years ago. What should I do about this situation?

I live in California and had a default summary judgment in 2001. The plaintiff renewed the judgment but never served me nor filed the Proof of Service (POS) or POS-30 with the court. Now, 9 years later, a writ was granted from that judgment. We have filed a motion to have the reinstatement dismissed. What are the chances of having this reinstatement dismissed, and how does this affect my credit and the Fair Credit Reporting Act?
