I received a call at my job from a gentleman speaking very little English who stated that I will be served with a lawsuit regarding a payday loan through Instant Cash Network. He couldn't provide information about the company but has my work number and info. He stated that I will be served and that there is nothing I can do. Is this a scam? What should I do?

I was rear-ended at a red light by a driver who was charged with driving three times over the limit on December 30, 2009. Since the accident, I've been seeing a chiropractor for a twisted knee. Today, I noticed a small bulge below my belly button, which the chiropractor said looks like an umbilical hernia. I never noticed it before. Could this be because of the accident? I was seated in the back seat with safety belts on, and I'm a larger guy (6'2", 280 lbs). The car was a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. Would my auto insurance (Geico) pay for the operation to fix the umbilical hernia? The drunk driver who rear-ended me also carried Geico insurance, and I always carry $500,000 underinsured limits. I'm wondering if I should seek legal advice.

Me and my neighbor are in a dispute about my land that joins hers at the back. I have tried to show her the property pins, but she keeps calling the police on me. This is the third time the police have been involved. She doesn't have the money for a surveyor, nor do I, but I have a layout of everyone's property in the neighborhood, dated 1985. Her fence is on my land about 2 feet, and she claims 36 feet of my land is hers. We need help before something bad happens. If I pay for a surveyor to come out, can I sue her for half the cost and for harassment for calling the police on me? The police also told me not to cut down any more trees on my land.

I filed a Complaint for Divorce along with a Summons and Complaint on 1-19-10 in Eaton County Michigan. I received a photocopy of Defendant's Verified Answer to Complaint for Divorce but it is not a True Copy. There is one item that he denies. I am not sure what my next step is now that an Answer with one item denied is. Do I need to call and ask for a hearing date? Do pre-trials come into effect now? Do I need to respond in any way to the denied item that has no effect on division of property or assets/debt?
