Our daughter had to have her front tooth pulled and replaced with a crown. After over a year and a half of repeated work, we paid half of our $1500 bill in April 2016. Two months later, the remaining bill was sent to collections, and we were denied access to our dental records until the bill is paid. Do we have a case against the dentist for pain and suffering, holding our records, and putting the bill into collection despite our payment in April 2016?

I received a renewal of judgment from Law Offices of Harris & Zide regarding a past credit card debt. They first contacted me in 2011, and I sent a letter stating they were past the statute of limitations and requested verification of the debt. I recently received more letters demanding payment. I called and informed them that I believe they are trying to collect a previously satisfied judgment, providing the name of the other law firm. I later found out they requested to be changed to the current lawyer in 2014 and now have the renewal of judgment. What can I do to fight this, especially since I am almost positive I paid the judgment 10 years ago?

My parents purchased a home in Chilton, County Alabama in '74 on a leased lot, but I wasn't able to locate a deed for the house. The land was purchased in 1991 from Alabama Power Company, and I have a copy of that deed. My mother transferred the deed to my sister in April 2000 after my father passed away. The legal descriptions of the property are identical on both deeds. My mother passed away in 2015, and I would like to know if the house is part of my mother's estate or is it automatically included in the deed my sister has.
