Our reinstatement deadline on our mortgage is today, but the bank is closed for a holiday. Will they let us do it tomorrow because the deadline was on a holiday? Additionally, my husband's name is on the note, and I am on the title. I didn't know we were behind on payments until I received a letter in my name. I am furious as I had the money in my account and now I'm using it for the reinstatement. Do I have any means to protect myself in the future, should this occur again? Also, I am getting mail about being sued. He keeps things from me intentionally and gets upset when I talk about money. I believe he thought he could resolve this before it reached this stage. I found out six months ago that his small business owes $11K to the IRS. We refinanced our house to pay the IRS in 2013, and I thought we were good. This stuff is serious, and I'm scared. The IRS now knows this. Even though we have received tax return money individually since we paid, he didn't file taxes last year. All these years, I am 70 and paid faithfully on our home for 15 years. I trusted him to do the same, but now these things are surfacing, and I'm worried about his priorities. He's 62. With the tax and this, I'm worried. Do you think I should get my name off the title?
